My father passed away during the planning of this ride He was a retired naval officer and wanted his ashes to be buried at sea. I will be discussing the idea of taking his ashes with us on our bike trip and add ashes to both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. I was born in Vancouver and Dad passed away in Dartmouth NS. We used to travel across he country as a family from one miliiary base to another. It only seems right that I now take him across this great nation and lay him to rest in both oceans. I hope he will approve of the gesture. From sea to sea!

The whole Cooper family is gathered in Halifax for Grandpa’s memorial today. Everyone is very excited that Dad and I are going to be taking Grandpa’s ashes through the mountains, prairies and lakes; from one side of the country to the other.
In the spirit of the traveller, who only gave up when the whole family was huddled in the very center of a canvas tent in midst of a 100-yr storm… we are getting psyched for the challenges, accomplishments and experiences that 42 days have in store for us!
Grandpa always tried to get the whole family together and he has done it once again, we are all together in Halifax to remember him and look forward to the next adventure! Here we come CANADA!
